What have been the highlights of your graduate program?
A highlight for me would be the opportunity to network with people from across the department and other government agencies.
What type of professional development opportunities have you taken part in?
Graduate development workshops such as governance, communication, introduction to public policy, budgeting, as well as a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.
What has been the most interesting piece of work you’ve contributed to as a graduate?
Working on a research paper that discusses the issues faced by the indigenous population in South Australia.
What do you enjoy most about working for the department?
The opportunity to work in teams with people from diverse backgrounds. I also enjoy working with a team of people who contribute to South Australia’s economy.
Do you have any advice for graduates looking to start their public-sector careers with the department?
Always put your hand up for new tasks. This allows you to build networks across the department and other government agencies.
