Attends Springbank Secondary College
Trained by TAFE SA
Employed by BAE Systems Maritime Australia
A full time Year 12 student at Springbank Secondary college, James discovered the Certificate II in Engineering while completing his SACE mandated Personal Learning Plan (PLP) during Year 10.
“Part of doing my PLP involved exploring potential career pathways,” he says. “I decided that this would be the best option for me as a kinaesthetic learner and because of my longstanding passion for making and learning practical skills.”
“I chose to take this exciting and challenging training pathway because of potential job prospects in the mining manufacturing industry.”
Currently working for BAE Systems Maritime Australia in its shipyard, as he progresses through his apprenticeship and into the future, James aims to be committed to continual learning, to improving and building his skill sets, and to ‘thinking critically as a crucial means to ensure my success as a tradesperson’.
